MOVIE PREVIEW: SARKAR 2 (2007)
Published by  Webmaster  at 10:24:16 pm on May 13, 2007

Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Bachchan
Director: Ram Gopal Varma
Producer: Ram Gopal Varma

After the success of Sarkar, Ram Gopal Varma is ready to shoot its sequel Sarkar 2 which will star the icons of the Bachchan family. Unlike Sarkar, which was inspired from Francis Ford Coppola’s film ‘Godfather’, Sarkar 2 will be an original script. The script draws no similarity from Godfather 2, which conceptualized the idea of son taking over the mafia business after the death of his father.

Sarkar 2 will star Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Bachchan in pivotal roles. The film will capture the political surroundings of rural Maharashtra and Delhi. The plot highlights the powers of Abhishek and Aishwarya whereas Amitabh’s role will take a backdrop from its original.

Shankar Nagre (Abhishek Bachchan) is married to Neha (Aishwarya Bachchan). Nagre family welcomes its new member with both hands. Shankar’s father Subhash Nagre (Amitabh Bachchan) has taken a backseat in the mafia and underworld business. He plays the role of an ageing father, who shares his experience with his son. Shankar takes the position of chief of the house and the business. Neha’s role evolves from that of a person who is family oriented to a manipulative and shrewd woman.

Eventually, Neha takes over as the leading lady of the house. She is an active participant in both household and business matters. Shankar is dependent on his wife in the times of crisis. The film will depict the presence of a new godfather, Shankar Nagre, who alongwith his wife will run the underworld business as well as deal with issues related to common man.

Aishwarya, with her grey shades is bound to draw critical attention from all her viewers. The plot of the film will deal with incidents that are close to reality.
