The Breathless singer turned a year older in April this year. He also received a very special gift from his band (Shakti) member John MzLaughlin.
The other member of the band is Zakir Hussain saab. John is guitarist. The latter flew down to Mumbai to gift Shankar a song named as ‘The Voice’, as a gift on his birthday.
John said, “I write for people I admire and love, and Shankar is one of them. To me, he is ‘the voice’. I composed and wrote this one for him.” Shakar was emotionally touched by his gesture and said, “He flew down especially for my birthday. There are certain people, the minute you meet them, you know they are great and John is one of them.”
