General Motors India and Shaadi.com have both forged alliances with forthcoming Bollywood flicks as a part of their marketing campaigns. While GM India has tied up with the movie Tara Rum Pum, featuring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee, both ambassadors of Chevrolet Aveo, Shaadi.com has tied up with the movie Metro.
Both the companies are organising contests based on these movies and are offering prizes.
who will watch Tara Rum Pum will have the opportunity to test-drive the Chevrolet vehicle of their choice at any GM India dealership. They can also fill out a lucky draw form after answering some basic questions about the movie. A winner will be selected from the entries collected over a period of four weeks after the all-India release of the movie, which was on April 27. The winner will receive a brand new Chevrolet Aveo.
According to Anisha Motwani, director, marketing, GM, unlike some of the other in-film placements where brands are force-fitted, Tara Rum Pum has a storyline woven around the brand. “The theme revolves around car racing and seamlessly showcases the performance, style and substance of Chevrolet cars in the most engaging manner,” she said.
As a part of its contest, Shaadi.com has uploaded live profile pages of Shruti (Konkona Sen Sharma) and Monty (Irrfan Khan) from the movie Metro. Members of Shaadi.com will get an opportunity to woo Shruti and Monty as respective characters. The members just need to express interest in their profiles and answer a few simple questions to be eligible for winning the contest. The prize is a chance to walk the red carpet and see the premiere with the stars themselves. The contest has already started from April 25 and will close on May 6.
Other lucky winners can also get tickets for the movie and other goodies such as music cds and Metro movie audiocassettes.
