Deepa Mehta teams up with BR Films to make a film with Preity Zinta…
The renowned production company BR Films and the popular filmmaker Deepa Mehta team up together to churn out a social flick titled ‘Heaven on Earth’. The luminous director Deepa returns with this film, which would now be called ‘Videsh’ for the Indian territory. The film will hit the screens all over in March.
Preity Zinta would be enacting the main lead opposite Vansh Bhardwaj (who is making debut with this film) in this project. The movie has already been released in Canada and got a marvelous response and Preity has won the ‘Best Actress’ award at the Chicago film festival for this film. She has also been nominated at the 29th Genie Awards that is called the Canadian equivalent to the Oscars.
Sanjay Bhutian, the CEO of BR Films utters about changing the title, "We did not want our Indian audiences to misinterpret the title ‘Heaven on Earth’ to be an English film. Hence we changed the film’s name to ‘Videsh’ as this would connect well with the Indian audiences."
Well, this is not all. The movie will also be released in Punjabi too.
