This actor is a multi faces and multi talented guy since he carries many jobs at a time and those too he does with much gusto and aplomb. He is an actor, a doctor, an industrialist, a CEO of a production house ‘Maverick Productions’ and now a restaurateur as well since he has just launched a restaurant ‘Blue Waters’ in Mumbai. This TV hottie and an actor of class has a mammoth fan following across the globe.
His production house has recently ventured into the filed of animation since the house has acquired 51% stake in Sankranti Productions promoted by Rajeev Dwivedi. A one year old company, Sankranti Creations deals with the business of film restoration, color correction and animation. This is the proud company that has dolled up the color version of the coveted classic of yesteryears ‘Mughal-e-Azam’. And after the colossal success of the film, Sankranti Productions has tied up with various production abodes not only in India but also abroad to smarten up such ventures. Sankranti also publishes a monthly magazine on animation, ‘Animation Today’ – the first of its kind in India and South East Asia which already has a readership of above five thousand. Almost a year back, this magazine has been launched and today carries the top spot in the trade.
On Maverick’s association with Sankranti, Anuj feeds the kitty, “Sankranti Creations shall dedicate itself to outsourcing animation and special effects. With the take over by Maverick, Sankranti plans to set up a large production studio with state-of -the-art equipment and hardware and software like SGI, 3DMax and SoftImage, SFX and processing motion capture facilities”.
When asked why he thought to step into the business of animation, he further says, “ The Indian Animation sector is set to boom in the coming years in view of the inherent advantage it offers to the world in terms of superior quality of trained work force, lower fees, no government controls etc. The growth is likely to come not only from outsourcing opportunities for films, serials, documentaries, commercials, computer games – but also from the fast growing Indian market which incidentally has the 2nd largest Entertainment sector in the world after USA”.
Anuj’s Maverick Productions had started rolling from last year and now is rumbling high with churning out ad films, documentaries and TV shows. Soon the house will begin to chew up the Hindi feature films since the talks are going on with the big wigs of the industry. His debut Bollywood film ‘Lips – The Kiss of Death’ is also peeking to come out in theaters very soon.
Keep showing to the world the ocean of talents you have … Anuj.
