Komal : How do you manage to stay so grounded?
Jackie Shroff: Because of my middle class background and my mothers values
Komal : After 180 films, as hero, villian and also doing character roles, hows the experience been?
Jackie Shroff: 1st girlfriend told me to be an actor …. but I always wanted to live like a hippie… wanted to be villian … have done a lot of films for friends … etc.
Komal : Being so good looking, still did’nt want to be a hero?
Jackie Shroff: Never thought of myself as good looking … I started my career with.modelling though.
Komal : Why Mumbaiya language is also intact? No fake sophistication?
Jackie Shroff: Inside I’m still the same…
Komal : Do you get turned on by a woman’s eyes?
Jackie Shroff: I see smile first… eyes should be bashful… bad odour is pathetic
Komal :. How you balance girls swooning over you all the time?
Jackie Shroff: I think about my family and wife… have slipped sometimes … after all I’m human
Komal : Subhash Ghai..is. your Godfather. Whats the relationship with him and how it has been maintained?
Jackie Shroff : Respect … family bonding… we’re both aquarians…
Komal : Children’s reaction to your films? Any possibility of them getting into acting?
Jackie Shroff : They used to watch my films with their mother… but now they’re more interested in sports…. I would have liked them to get into acting coz this is the best career… fame… money… etc.
Komal : Is PR and networking Important?
Jackie Shroff: Very….
Komal: After so many years in the industry, still not understood the business of films?
Jackie Shroff : No…
Komal: Contemporaries like Sunny Deol and Anil Kapoor, still playing Hero’s … feel bad?
Jackie Shroff : No…
Komal: New movies…BHOOT UNKLE ? and MERA DIL LEKE DEKKHO?
Jackie Shroff : Encourage children’s films …. big market … MERA DIL LEKE DEKKHO is Shatruji’s film … thats enough reason to do it.
Komal: When mediocre film-makers come, you don’t ask for money … so when big producers come with films, don’t you look for money?
