Javed Akhtar refuses to write for Karan Johar…
Karan Johar’s production, ‘My Name is Khan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead has been creating big ripples nowadays. But there is an interesting story behind the songs of this movie, which just oozed out now. And this is about Javed Akhtar, who has turned down Karan Johar’s offer to write the lyrics for the film album.
The actual reason of refusing to write lyrics was that Javed Akhtar did not want to share the credits with another lyricist since Niranjan Iyengar has written two songs for the film. Karan wanted Javed Akhtar to pen the remaining three songs of the album but he simply refused the offer.
Niranjan told, who has also written the dialogue of the movie, “Yes, I have done two songs which are going into the film. I don’t know who is doing the remaining ones. Deciding that is the prerogative of the producer Karan Johar.”
When asked Javed Akhtar, he confirmed the news and said, “I don’t like to share the credits. I would have got the publicity but the other person, who has done a fine job, wouldn’t have. I have read the songs penned by Niranjan and I think he has done a great job.”
He further added, “I have no problems with Karan. I am doing the lyrics for his other film ‘Wake Up Sid’. I might still do the fifth song of ‘My Name is Khan’ but that will strictly be on a non-professional basis.”
This is not new for Akhtar that he refused Karan this time, he had done this earlier too with the movie, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ because he found the words (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) vulgar. So Karan then hired the services of Sameer, who then won the accolades for the songs. Javed Akhtar then joined Karan Johar for ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ and admitted that it was his mistake turning down his offer for ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.

nobody turns down the return of King and Queen of Bollywood(King Khan-Queen Kajol). I think it is kajol that he has problem with as He did not wright for KKHH and Kabhi khush kabhi gham(both starred Kajol and SRK). maybe he does not like the best jodi of bollywood or maybe only kajol.
