Konkona Sen Sharma has shone out yet again in another film. Even when her films don’t do that well, the feisty Bong babe, a tremendously good actress always manages to stand out.
This holds true for her latest film ‘Luck By Chance’ too. Though the film has got some flak from critics, Konkona has gotten overtly praised.
She might have portrayed her character in the most real way, but she maintains that she didn’t really draw inspiration from real life.
She says, "It’s a completely fictional character. But there’s some reality. Like many others, Sonam Mishra is young, ambitious and is from small town Kanpur and comes to Mumbai with a dream to become an actress. But she doesn’t compromise to become successful and but naturally only gets roles as the hero’s sister or the heroine’s best friend and gets B grade movies. I know that things like compromising happen and it’s a very common thing. But it hasn’t ever happened to me personally. I have heard such stories and know some people who have gone through the same."
But there are certain things which she says are real.
She adds, "It also talks about the industry being kind of cruel to the outsider and people being aware of that side of the industry. But the industry is a mix of everything- good and bad."
She maintains that the experience with the Akhtars was something to treasure.
She says, "Initially I had no interest in the film. But I always heard that Zoya had written a good script written. I fell in love with it during the audition and decided to sign the film. Zoya is very clear about what she wants. Though this is her first film she didn’t handle it like a novice. Farhan is a very good actor and it was a great experience. He is natural and very funny."
She also loves the title and says that it has a major role in real life.
She adds, "In real life it’s a mix of both luck and talent. Though it varies from people to people as for some people luck matters more than talent and for the rest it’s the other way round."
This actress surely is one of the few in B-Town with a strong mind of her own!
