Richard Gere was in India as an ambassador to promote AIDS awareness in India.
In his quest to prove it to people that AIDS does not spread due to kissing or touching, he kissed Shilpa Shetty and this has enraged anger amongst the people of India who term this as a ‘cultural shock’.
Richard Gere is from a different community but as an ambassador for a social cause he should have understood the sentiments of Indian citizens.
