Bhavya Goes in trail of glory!
 It was shocking but not completely unexpected. Bhavya Pandit, one of the most talented contestants on Indian Idol was eliminated from the show last night. Shocking, because she was expected to reach the finals from day one based on her talent alone. The spunky young teenager unfortunately did not stand a chance against those pitted against her on one ground – they had the votes. Week after week the talented and outspoken seventeen year old stood amongst the bottom two – a fact she joked about. But this Saturday there were no jokes—there were no tears either. She accepted her fate with a grace that belies her young age. And why not? It was a first on Indian Idol that all the judges and guests (Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu) stood up to give her a standing ovation. Sonali was dejected that yet another girl was out of the show. But for once it was not about the gender, but the loss of talent that hurt everyone. Annu Mallik’s blue-eyed girl is gone but he has already promised her a song in the near future. Confident about her future as a playback singer Bhavya made a confident exit. When last seen she was busy making plans for live shows!
With Bhavya Pandit gone, the Top Five contestants on Indian Idol are Rajdeep Chatterjee, Sourabhee, Kapil, Remo and Torsha. Having made it this far it remains to be seen whose Luck and vote bank holds out. The action has just begun on Indian Idol 4.
