 Indian actresses are stuck on long hair. All actresses from Kareena to Deepika to Mallika to Preity flaunt similar hairdos.
At least for the heroes it’s better. Aamir, Salman , Saif etc can experiment a little but not the actresses!
They all have curls, golden streaks and mid length hair which gets boring and usual after a while. They are all fascinated with blonde, golden or maybe reddish brown hair and never with unusual colours like green or blue!
Well, one reason could be because many men think that long hair is far sexier than short hair.
But it’s not the same in Hollywood. People there are open to experimentation.
Katie Holmes, Uma Thurman, Victoria Beckham and Naomi Campbell etc are considered some of the most chic and sexy women in the world and they all have sported short hair for a long time.
Meg Ryan has looked far cuter with short than with the long hair she sported during the 80s. And at 40 something today she’s still very much a cutie pie.
Natalie Portman went bald for the movie ‘V for Vendetta’ and loved the look so much that she even happily flaunted it at the Cannes film festival in 2005.
Well, Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das dared to go bald for ‘Water’ but unfortunately the film could never be made with them. Looks like they must have greatly regretted their decision thereafter!
Now Shilpa Shetty is using a special wig to flaunt the bald look in one of her new films.
Well, the reality is Bollywood heroines have to flaunt long hair and most roles demand that.
So no one dares to ever experiment with short hair.
Even the movies that require heroines to flaunt short hair don’t really do it the right way
Preity Zinta’s short hair in ‘Lakshya’ didn’t get much praise. There was nothing so great about Kajol’s short wig in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.
In the past, the likes of Persis Khambatta and Mallika Sarabhai experimented quite a bit. But then they were never mainstream Bollywood heroines.
Currently Bipasha dares to experiment a bit and had developed the courage to try out new hairdos which includes short hair. It’s a matter of attitude and most don’t have it.
Well, till they decide to do something drastic about it, looks like we have to bear with them!

i think they should chop it all off
short hair is more sexier than long. our heroiens r waiting to see, who is going to cut first. if 1 or 2 top heroines chopped , definitly every one will ready to cut short .
in south sneha asin has to be the come first. eager to sneha and asin in short hair
Whether it is Sneha or Asin to go for short hair?
deepika,kareena,and athoer look great in long hair but they should try short hair styles also such as bob or boy cut i would love to see deepika in bob cut or boy cut hair
