Mohit Suri: Exposing his ‘Raaz’ and more!
Mohit Suri’s ‘Raaz- The Mystery Continues’ which opened on 23rd January got mixed responses from critics and audiences alike but director Mohit Suri is very proud of the movie he made. He’s happily flaunting it to the world.
He says, "It’s just called ‘Raaz’ after the 2001 Vishesh hit with the same name. But I never wanted to make a sequel. I’ve based it on something which Sant Kabeer said about ‘the greatest evil being not the one outside but the one within us’ some 400 years ago. I could connect with it and wrote a story about it."
He’s very happy about the fact that some are saying that the movie is better than the previous ‘Raaz’! But he shows off his modest side too.
He says, "Actually I am very critical about my own work. I would never ever go out and say that I have made a masterpiece. I just give my best and hope that it’s good enough."
Most importantly he’s very proud of his team of actors.
He says, "Kangana is brilliant. Though she’s yet to become a big star like some of her contemporaries, her performances tend to get appreciated. Emraan and I have watched horror films from the age of four and five and I can’t make a horror film without him. He loves horror and told me he would be in my film. I needed a new guy and hence Adhyayan was signed on. He can’t just be someone’s boyfriend. Apart from ‘Raaz’ he is there in another Vishesh film called ‘Jashn’ as the solo lead. He’s talented and can prove himself soon."
Things in his personal front are hunky-dory too. He claims that all the rumours about him breaking up with his girlfriend Udita Goswami because of his heroine Kangana are baseless. They did have problems but things are better now.
He says, "Yeah, I’m happy to be together with her. My favorite song in the film is De De Mera Sath which I had co-written with the main lyricists and composed it when we were having problems. It’s beautiful and has all beautiful emotions in it."
Well, Mohit is hell bent on showing off that he’s a one of a kind director!
