This happened on Sony TV’s very popular comedy show, ‘Comedy Ka Badshah Haseega India’.
The initiative which looked like increasing cultural harmony through a medium by bringing stand up comedians from two nations together on a common platform on ‘Comedy Ka Badsshah hasegaa India’ took a different turn when an Indian contestant walked out from the sets accusing Rakhi Sawant of a biased judgement.
This incident happened when Vipul D shah, the producer of the show was busy putting together the first episode of Mahasangram India- Pakistan special. Albela from India and Sultan from Pakistan were the first two contestants pitted against each other in this episode. After the first round, Sultan scored higher then Albela. In the second round, Sultan completed his stand-up comedy and it was Albela’s turn to present his gag/ mimickery. That’s when Albela refused to perform accusing Rakhi Sawant of a biased judgment saying that she had been more lenient to Sultan because he was from Pakistan. On which Rakhi said, “We have taken decision from our hearts”. She was speaking on behalf of Raju Srivastav and Pakistani stand-up comedian and co-judge,Kasif.
Rakhi tried to pacify him saying that the judgment was only fair and that he should behave himself. She also added that “Our (Indians) USP is to be nice to people”. But nothing cooled Albela who walked out of the sets.
Vipul D Shah had a tough time convincing Albela to come back and complete the episode. “It was quite a task”, says Vipul.
Watch this episode that will go on air this Friday at 9 PM. And the channel has decided to put the entire thing as it happened so that the viewers can watch the exact and true picture of the incident.
