Jaya Bachchan will showcase her acting skills in an English film this time which is being directed by by noted Bengali author-director Joyobroto Chatterjee whose The Last Train of Innocence won him the Hawthronden fellowship.
“When I approached Jayaji, she had already read my books and had a fair idea how I write. She said she loved my books and would work with me,” said Chatterjee from Kolkata.
The movie spans three generations. Jaya plays the grandmother to a new Bengali actor. Mallika plays the wife of Om Puri, who is shown as Jaya’s former lover.
