Abhay Deol is nowadays promoting his upcoming flick, ‘Dev D’ but he is of the view that he does not like to promote a film.
On promoting his flick, he chips in, “It’s not about the ego, it’s not about projecting an image, it’s not about being lazy or anything else you might think. The truth is I love making movies, but I just don’t have it in me to sell them”.
The actor further added, “I am an actor, not a salesman, but most people seem to think that the two are one and the same. I find promoting extremely tiring. It basically means I have to answer the same questions a 1,000 times in the span of eight to nine hours”.
‘Dev D’ is a modern-day interpretation of the classic novel ‘Devdas’ written by Sarat Chandra. The leading protagonists of the movie – Dev, Paro and Chanda of ‘Dev D’ reflect the sensibilities, conflicts aggression, and independence. And the free thought, exuberance and recklessness of the youth of today. The film also talks about the generation that is jammed between eastern roots and western sensibilities.
The film is directed by Anurag Kashyup and produced by UTV Motion Pictures newborn banner UTV Spot Boy.
Abhay…you talk really big that you don’t like promoting movies then our question to you is that why you are doing this for your upcoming film? Do you have any fear of the failure of the film at the box office, as your films usually do…!
