The race is on between Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan to do English films this year. Big B is already doing The Last Lear by Rituporno Ghosh and Shantaram by Mira Nair. And, close on his heels is wife Jaya who has completed 50 per cent of an English film with danseuse Mallika Sarabhai called Love Song — Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
It is being directed by noted Bengali author-director Joyobroto Chatterjee whose The Last Train of Innocence won him the Hawthronden fellowship.
This is Chatterjee’s second feature film after Kehkeshaan in 1985, which introduced model Kitu Gidwani.
