 Aamir Khan was pretty much sure that his directed venture ‘Taare Zameen Par’ would be nominated for the Oscar Awards but this could not happen making the actor disappointed altogether. The legendary musician A R Rahman emerged as India’s pride after winning the music award for Slumdog Millionaire at Golden Globe but Aamir could not be the lucky one for the 81st Academy Awards.
The much acclaimed film, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ could not manage to be nominated for the nine films short-listed in the foreign language film category. The nine films, selected from among the 65, which had originally qualified, will now go for the next round of voting. Selection committees in New York and Los Angeles will then pick five nominees from among them. The winner will be announced on 22nd February this year at the awards night.
The news certainly has appeared as a big disappointment to the millions of film’s fans and the entertainment industry because all were pretty sure that the movie about a boy and his teacher would be selected for the Oscars.

aamir we had told you even if u make much batter than this film
but you had no chance because us jury need only one indian film
so they had slumdog,and don’t mind but your tare zameen was
really directed by amol gupte.’so if amol had hear this news he must
have been so happy
i think personaly ‘you are not a good person’,didn’t you learn from
your film that ‘if you do bad for some one then one day god fail you.

TZP would never be the represent of India. It should be Chak de or Jodha Akbar. Chak de would be the best chance cause it is about a womans team beating almost mens team and coming from a non western country, it is a new thing and that would blow the judges mind. Jodha Akbar cause it is india history and Chak de for india future. The judges wants to see progress of a country. Womans team would atleast be nominated if not winning.
it is a sad news that TZP is out of the race.
We were surely expecting Oscar this time.We talk as India as one and not of SRK or Hrithik.
I think Oscar is more racists rather than genuine.

Those who are telling that TZP is not worth the Oscars….. I agree with you. This is Aamir Khan First Direction………. He’ll win it with other movies… He’s The Perfectionist… He’ll direct another movie which will be better than any other American movie… an uncomparable movie.
