 ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ is back again …. Yes, that’s true but wait it’s not the film, which is being remade instead it’s a TV show, which is an adaptation of Hema Malini’s superhit film of the same name. The Bollywood actress Anjorie Alagh is making her television debut with this show playing the main lead.
It’s also actor Cezanne Khan’s comeback vehicle after ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay’. There were talks of the replacements in the TV fraternity for the main lead of this show, ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’. Earlier Mouni Roy was to do the main lead (the double role of ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’) opposite Cezanna and Rahil Azam. But she was then replaced by the gorgeous film actress Anjorie Alagh.
On joining this show, Anjorie says, “Yes, I’m doing this show. That’s because it’s an author-backed role which was once played by none other than Hemaji and I think it will be a great challenge to play the roles. I could not have let go of this opportunity”.
On dropping Mouni, Anjorie chips in, “I don’t know why they changed their mind to take her. I was called for the auditions and taken on the basis of that”.
There have been news in the media that Anjorie is the channel chief Sameer Nair’s sister-in-law (he’s married to Anjorie’s sister Sawari). But she denied it that she has been cast due to this fact that Sameer is her relative. Alagh denies the news saying, “Sameer has been in the TV industry for umpteen numbers of years. If I wanted a favour, I could have asked him long time back. I didn’t need to do Hindi films in between. This has nothing to do with Sameer. I auditioned for the part and got the role”.
When asked if she has said goodbye to the films, she clears the dust, “I have some films in hand and will continue working in them”.
