Aamir decided to cast Ayesha Takia for the same role when Asin refused to enact the glamorous parts included in the Hindi version of Ghakini.
Ayesha who is known to refuse roles that include smooching scenes and skin exposure had compromised on her apprehensions for the sake of acting with Aamir, an actor she has always admired since her school days.
But apparently, later as the shooting date approached (early April) she developed cold feet and started voicing her inhibitions to perform certain scenes opposite Aamir. Eventually, Aamir replaced Ayesha with Asin.
