Of the entire cast of ‘Don’, Arjun Rampal has kept a relatively low profile and we won’t be surprised if he’s among the surprise packages at the end of it all!
It seems when Farhan (Akhtar) approached Arjun for the role played by Pran earlier, Arjun’s immediate reaction was, “Wonderful, but wasn’t Jasjit 44 years old in the original?!” But when Farhan actually gave him a full narration of the film and his character did Arjun understand that he wasn’t going to be playing a 44-year old! “I won’t say much except that Farhan had the whole story well structured in his head!” he laughs.
He continues, “To limp was difficult initially but the concept of cane with Jasjit at all times was very interesting. More than a prop it became a part of the character and so did the ‘kada’ and the ‘family photograph’ he carries with him in the movie. I always thought the character was more emotional than aggressive and the rage side to it was only an outcome of what he was made to go through.”
It seems Arjun had to walk the top of the Petronas skybridge in Malaysia for one of the scenes! He confirms, “I did, and it was a lot of fun! Looking down from that height… wow!!”
