Here is a movie preview of talented actress Nandita Dasʼs directed venture titled ʽFiraaqʼ starring the legendary brilliant actor Naseeruddin Shah in the main lead. Along with him, other luminous stars of Bollywood from Paresh Rawal, Deepti Naval to Sanjay Suri enact the roles.
Nandita Das, after enticing the viewers with her acting skills, moors the belts to debut as a director of a film. The movie is based on a 24-hour period, one month after the Hindu-Muslim riots which ravaged Gujarat in 2002.
Storyline:
Firaaq takes you to the emotional journeys of ordinary people, some of whom were victims, some perpetrators, while yet others chose to watch silently. The movie depicts the multiple narratives, which are emotionally interconnected. A middle class housewife closes the door on a lady who comes to seek refuge. And then that housewife struggles to overcome her guilt. The loyalty of two best friends is challenged in a time rife with fear and suspicion. As a way out of their helplessness and anger, a group of young victimized men fasten the belts to take revenge. A modern day Hindu-Muslim couple struggles to hide their true identities. And a little boy, who has lost his parents in riots, wanders in the streets to search his missing father and mother. It is through these characters that the film traces ways in which violence impacts on people’s lives. Release Date:
