After giving a blockbuster hit, ‘Rock On!’, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar once again team up to deliver another venture titled ‘Luck By Chance’, which has been churning out news from the outset. Directed by Farhan’s sister Zoya Akhtar (who is making her Bollywood debut as a director with this film), the movie stars Farhan Akhtar, Rishi Kapoor , Isha Sharvani , Sanjay Kapoor , Konkona Sen Sharma , Dimple Kapadia , Juhi Chawla , Aly Khan and special appearance by Hrithik Roshan. The legendary lyricist father Javed Akhtar picks up the pen once again for his kids to write the lyrics for the film album, which is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The music has been released by Big Music.

1): Yeh Zindagi Bhi (Loy Mendonsa and Shekhar Ravjiani)

The album starts off well by ‘Yeh Zindagi Bhi’ sung by Loy Mendonsa and Shekhar Ravjiani. Very soothing track with spongy renditions and brilliantly penned lyrics, the composition by SEL is a class. Go for it.

Rating: 8.5/10

2): Baaware (Shankar, Ila Arun, Loy and Rajasthani Ensemble)

‘Baaware’ features the singers Shankar, Ila Arun, Loy and Rajasthani Ensemble to croon it. It’s picturised on a cricus. Rajasthani singers spell magic with your soul and the folk potion later in the song, attracts the ears. The main vocalists seem to be in their elements. Javed Saab impresses with the pen and SEL with the musical score. A wonderful melodious track to stay with. Repeat it time and again.

Rating: 9/10

3): Baaware (Shankar, Ila Arun, Loy and Rajasthani Ensemble) – Remix

The remix version appears next and gels well with you. The remix done by Midival Punditz is fantastic.

Rating: 8.5/10

4): Pyar Ki Daastaan (Mahalakshmi Iyer and Amit Paul)

Follows next is a love duet sung by Mahalaxmi Iyer and Amit Paul. The dholak thaap in the background seems great amongst the instruments. Both the singers deliver the goods aptly. The lyrics are soothing so is the composition.

Rating: 8/10

5): Yeh Aaj Kya Ho Gaya (Sunidhi Chauhan)

The song appears with a sunny, breezy, guitar riff, and bares a soul that is very southern-rock. Sunidhi does a great job to allure you. The lyrics hold values and the music is electrifying. You will find yourself humming it around after giving it a listen.

Rating: 8.5/10

6): Sapnon Se Bhare Naina (Shankar Mahadevan)

Shankar Mahadevan comes up behind the mike now with the song, ‘Sapnon Se Bhare’. He is without any doubt a classy singer as he is a musician. So he does wonderful with the mike. The song is based on a Bhairavi raag (a poignant morning raga) and Shankar renders showing his classical roots with aplomb. Javeed Saab shows his class in writing the classical based poetry. SEL arranges a calming score. You would love to hear it again.

Rating: 8.5/10

7): O Raahi (Shankar Mahadevan)

The concluding track is ‘O Raahi’ is a philosophical song with Sufi touch added to it. Shnakar once again proves his mettle that he is the best singer Bollywood has today on music scene. Lyrics are flawless and the music is unblemished. A great effort to wind up the album.

Rating: 8.5/10

Conclusion:

The soundtrack of ‘Luck By Chance’ will send smiles on the musicians and the makers of the film since it is a classy album. And in one word, it can safely be called ‘SUPERB’ in every sense of the word.

Overall Rating: 9/10
