Directed by Sudipto Chattopadhyaya, the movie stars the likes of sultry Bipasha Basu and Mahesh Manjerakar in the pivotal roles. Whereas Ronit Roy, Lilette Dubey, Kiran Karmarkar, Sanjeeda, Maradona Rebello and Daya Shanker Pandey play the supporting characters.
Storyline:
The film is a moving drama, based on Mary (Lilette Dubey), who is a dominating mother. This mom coerces her young child to act as a girl in Hindi films. Baby Kusum is very cute little star. In reality, this kid is a boy who is cloaked as a girl. He was baptized Jerry but known as Master Jai once he stepped into the sparkling world of Bollywood. Jerry has an unstable relationship with his mother from very early age. He got no education from school and emerged as an illiterate and drug addict during teenage years. Always playing female characters, Jeery now wants to enact the hero of the films. Since he is in his teenage years, he now begins to have dreams involving a stunning sexy woman named Nandini (Bipasha Basu) bringing another chaos to his growing age. Nandini appears as a fantasy woman in his life, which Jerry conjures up. She is a like a phantom who taunts Jerry and fights with him. Soon, he is to now make the camera once again in life and this time as a young lad. The question is that whether he would be able to adjust his newly found role is what form the crux of this unusual but interesting flick.

Belonging to art cinema, Pankh (meaning wings) is a thought provoking and philosophical kind of a film that pours light on the common issue of the kids who are featured in roles contrary to their natural genres.
Bipasha Basu, who now wants to act in mature serious roles, plays her desirous character, which is dark, glamorous and imaginary character. She confuses the mind of Jerry with regards to his real identity – he is not sure whether he’s a boy, girl, a man or eunuch.
Popular model Maradona Rebello plays young Jerry.
