Bollywood of India has slowly crept into the lives of its people and created dream worlds for the common man to lure him to the unseen and provided food-for-thought cinema to the classes. Bollywood portrays the society like any other mass media and also cautions us of what lies ahead. It is the mirror of the society and also the initiator of trends in the society. Bollywood with its typical masala flavour and the something-for-everyone feel to it has bonded with the Indian masses like no other media or interest. It is unique in many ways like the song-dance sequels, family values, socially relevant issues, regional representation and cultural diversity blended in one color… that’s Bollywood for you.

On a commercial note, Bollywood is the fourth highest foreign exchange grosser with an annual turnover of Rs. 4000 Crores. For a common man, Bollywood is the depiction of his own self on the silver screen and Bollywood is of its own people. Time and again, it has been accused of being stereotype and limited in its scope of subject inclusion, but it does talk of you, of me and any other Indian reading this section. Bollywood is not the larger-than-life Bollywood kind but is for us and for the undivided and united nation called India.
Moving on to cricket, what can one say? Passion, craze, fanaticism, nationalism, inspiration, achievement, patriotism… choose for yourself describe the pulse of the nation… Cricket. It’s unbelievable as to how a nation lives, breathes and lives a sport the way an Indian does when it comes to Cricket. From the ‘tea stall’ to the corporate boardrooms, Cricket is discussed everywhere possible and the passion is deeply rooted and sees no discrimination when the nation prays and celebrates for a victory.
