Anu Malik and Pritam team up to compose the soundtrack of Harman Baweja’s forthcoming flick, ‘Victory’ which also stars Amrita Rao along with him and Anupam Kher in the lead roles. The movie stars many world renowned cricketers as well as it is based on the game of cricket.
1): Balla Utha Chakka Laga (Sukhwinder Singh and Daler Mehdi)
Anu Malik brings the duo of Sukhwinder Singh and Daler Mehdi to croon the opening number, which is a bhangra type of song. It starts with cricket commentary. The drums and whistle attract the most amongst the instruments. Both the singers lure the souls. Syed Gulrez’s lyrics gel well with the song and the composition sounds great.
Rating: 7/10
2): Aisa Toh Socha Na Tha (KK)
KK has been roped in to sing this song. He sings with aplomb. The lyrcical job seems poor and so does the composition. An avoidable number.
Rating: 2/10
3): We Love Kriket (Kailash Kher)
Kailash Kher comes behind the mike to sing this track. He sings with ease and allures you. Syed Gulrez’s lyrics hold no values at all. Anu Malik on the orchestra does not impress. A mundane number all the way.
Rating: 2/10
4): Tu Ne (Shaan)
Shaan makes the moves with ‘Tu Ne’ and impresses a lot with his versatile singing. The song has Anu Malik’s signature style composition that attracts a lot to the ears. It’s a slow number and the guitar playing injects pleasures. This love song has been written creatively. Go for it.
Rating: 7.5/10
5): Victory (Dibendu)
The title track is sung by Dibendu who attracts to your souls instantly. It’s a pumping song. The lyrics are really good and have feel great values. The composition by Anu Malik is spongy.
Rating: 8/10
6): Mazaa Aa Gaya (Sonu Nigam, Suresh Wadikar, Suresh Bhosle, Altaaf Raja, Sumitra Iyer and Mahalaxmi Iyer)
The concluding track is laced with a horde of singers to do the honors. Sonu, the legendary Suresh Wadikar, Suresh Bhosle, Altaaf Raja, Sumitra and Mahalaxmi all render with conviction. Syed Gulrez’s fun lyrics go aptly with the mood of the song. Anu Malik catches the pulse of the listener with his remarkable composition. A brilliant end of the album.
Rating: 8.5/10
Conclusion:
Overall, Victory has sparks to ignite the listeners’ souls. Except two/three songs, rest of the album is laced with enthusiastic tracks to enjoy with. Victory may get victory for the makers as far as music is concerned.
Overall Rating: 7/10
