It is already common knowledge that 70’s classic Bombay To Goa is to be remade, but were you aware that Amitabh Bachchan may also star?
The film is being remade with The Great Indian Laughter Challenge actors, and be directed by Raj Pendurkar, with the producer being Humayun Rangeela.
The majority of the star cast of the new Bombay To Goa are the Laughter Challenge actors, Sunil Pal, Raju Srivastava, Naveen Prabhakar, Ehsaan Qureshi, Rauf Lala et al. But the makers are trying to rope in Big B for a special appearance in the flick. Says Pendurkar, “We are trying to get Mr Bachchan for a kind of appearance like Kishore Kumar did in the original.”
The new version will not have a romatic lead pair, as was the case with Amitabh Bachchan and Aruna Irani. Sunil Pal will essay the role that Mehmood did, while Raju Srivastava plays a ward boy who aspires to become a film writer. Nitin Shankar composes the music of the film and singer-composer Bappi Lahiri has sung the title song for the film. The film is 50 per cent complete and will be released by the end of the year.
