While Fardeen’s character is shown to be multi-faceted, Esha’s character fails to rise above the typical coy, confused girl and just because of that fails to connect with the audience, thereby taking the love-story down with it.
In the crop, some believe in the institution of marriage whereas some are hard core disbelievers. It’s more of a social discussion that like a honeymoon trip. The film moves at a bullock cart’s pace . It becomes intolerable to sit through the movie in the second half.
Though the concept suits the Indian audiences, the storyline and the narration is a big disappointment. The screenplay is anept at handling the story. Kirron Kher and Satish Shah do a commendable job by bringing a few smiles on the faces of the down and out audiences, but nevertheless, survival is difficult throughout the movie.
Pritam’s music is good but hasn’t been effectively shot. Gulzar’s lyrics are quirky at best and the film loses out on the sensitivity his poetry could bring in. Better and refined lighting, add a totally different dimension to a romantic film which Just Married could have easily done with.
Director Meghna is fine but writer Meghna is below average. She has managed to pull out fabulous performances from the lead pair of Esha and Fardeen but a loose storyline wastes it all. Bikram Saluja is big no no for Hindi films. Most of the characters are not used effectively in carving the story.
The film has its moments but on a whole it is a dull product and will fail to satisfy the needs of ‘entertainment’.
