Hattrick means three in the general sense. Here, in the movie it means three parallel un-related stories patched into one movie revolving around the theme of the on-going Cricket World Cup. India is driven by the game of cricket and the glamour of bollywood. Hence, Hattrick is a culmination of the two.
The film has good overall performances from its actors and there are quite a few interesting moments in the first hour, but the film stagnates just when you think everything is going fine.
The dilemma of the characters is well depicted. Nana’s expressionless nature resembles his character that of a person who is completely detached from the simple pleasures of life. Then we have Kunal Kapoor and Rimi Sen.
Kunal loves cricket even more than he loves his wife. Rimi is least interested in the game. But then things take a turn and Rimi falls in love with Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Paresh Rawal is mind boggling in the comedy scenes and Danny plays a cricket fanatic effectively. Then what went wrong with the movie?
