Music Critic: Goher Iqbal Punn
Director: BH Tharun Kumar
Cast: Anupam Kher, Hemant Birje, Johny Lever, Sneha Ullal, Sanna Mirza, Kumar Saahil and Rajesh Khanna
Music: Sanjeev-Darshan
The duo of Sanjeev-Darshan ignited the music buffs’ hearts with pleasures in the movie, ‘Mann’ with the spongy music. The duo now returns to Hindi music scene after almost half a decade with a low profile flick, ‘Kaashh Mere Hote’. Let’s check out if they have anything heart-warming this time around…
1): Teri Naganee (Labh Janjua)
The well-fitted voice for Punjabi bhnagras, Labh Janjua opens the album and delivers a blood-boiling singing in this loud Punjabi bhangra. The song is full of energy and features the catchy lyrics. The composition is great. You love to rock with…
Rating: 7/10
2): Teri Naganee (Labh Janjua) – Remix
The hi-voltage DJ mixing attracts your ears. Yes, do play it.
Rating: 7/10
3): Mehbooba (Shashank Singh Baba)
The new vocalist Shashank Singh Baba comes behind the mike and disappoints with the singing. Nothing pleasing appears in his voice. The lyrics look routine so does the composition. A below average track.
Rating: 2.5/10
4): Teri Yaad (Sushank Singh Baba)
The singer again checks his qualities with a romantic number, ‘Teri Yaad’. Yes, this time the singing glides on the ears. The percussions and the electronic beats make a good flow. The lyrics hold values. The composition too appears sugary.
Rating: 7/10
5): Kaashh Mere Hote (Shweta Pandit)
The title track features Shweta Pandit to delivers the vocals. Shweta has potential to attract the listeners. The soothing track becomes saccharine with the good lyrics but the composition falls flat.
Rating: 4.5/10
6): Kaashh Mere Hote (Shaurin Bhatt)
The second version brings Shaurin Bhatt, another new singing talent, to croon the lines. The number holds good voice and impressive lyrics but is letdown by an ordinary piece of music.
Rating: 4/10
7): Rim Jhim Sawan (Shashank Singh Baba and Shweta Pandit)
The duo of Sanjeev-Darshan brings the feel of 90s music in this number, which is sung beautifully by Shashank Singh and Shweta Pandit. The lyrics look mundane. The musical score is just about average.
Rating: 2.5/10
8): Dil Yeh Mera Dil (Shweta Pandit)
Shweta Pandit comes again with a romantic track, ‘Dil Yeh Mera Dil’ and injects sugary pleasures in your ears. The lyrics are okay and the music is mundane making the track a failure altogether.
Rating: 2/10
9): Masti Bhara (Suzzanne)
The concluding track is rendered by Suzzanne who delivers the goods with aplomb. The lyricist spoils the pleasures again. The composers too destroy the mood. Suzzanne needs applauds due to her intoxicating voice but she is letdown by the lyricist and the musicians.
Rating: 2/10
Conclusion:
The soundtrack of ‘Kaashh Mere Hote’ is an absolute failure and should be avoided.
Overall Rating: 2.5/10
