Star-Studded New York City Premiere of
‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’
Three days before "The Day the Earth Stood Still" crashes into Indian theaters, a New York premiere for the anticipated film was held by 20th Century Fox. Using AMC Loews Lincoln Square, New York as the place the special screening took place on Tuesday, December 9. The premiere saw many Hollywood stars walking down the red carpet.
Those attending the events included the film’s cast ensemble, Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Jaden Smith, Jon Hamm and Kathy Bates, as well as director Scott Derrickson. They were joined by celebrity guests from Jaden’s parents, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, to WWE star-turned-actor John Cena.
Promising some extraordinary visual effects along with a deeply impacting message for humans, ‘The Day The Earth Stood Still’ is all set for a World-Wide Release on Dec 12.
Keanu Reeves portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval. As governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitor’s appearance, a woman (Jennifer Connelly) and her young stepson get caught up in his mission – and come to understand the ramifications of his being a self-described "friend to the Earth."
In India, the film will also be dubbed in Hindi (title: Maha Pralay – Aasman se Aakraman), Tamil (Bhoologa Pralayam) & Telegu (Bhoo Pralayam) apart from the English version.
