The singer says no, but the album titled For You From Me, has had its mixing done from Canada.
It might be a ridiculous idea to spend a huge amount on music videos and music albums, but that’s not a deterrent for the veteran Hariharan. This Colonial Cousins’ partner (Leslie Lewis is the other half) will soon bring out his latest music album – and if the buzz is anything to go by, it is one of the most expensive albums made in recent times.
While its mixing had been done in Canada, a feat that not many albums achieve, the video shot for the album has been rather costly too. But Hariharan, who recently turned 51 (doesn’t look like one, huh?), refuses to buy it. “It isn’t the costliest. I don’t know where you heard that from (laughs). But yes, I spent a lot of money. But once the album comes on air, I am sure I will get the returns. But before that, mind you, I need to get myself a good music company. Some are showing interest – but that again, isn’t confirmed,” informs Hariharan.
What is happening to his album, which he was planning to dedicate to the city of Lahore?
“That’s very much on. I had gone to Lahore and I was very much impressed by its culture, by its people and by its music. So, I thought of putting it through music, my own music. But I haven’t really officially announced this. It will have a lot of ghazals and North Indian music,” says Hariharan, who is also planning an album with Leslie Lewis.
“Leslie is a great friend and a brilliant partner. He is a sort of a soul mate at this point (laughs). As Colonial Cousins, we are planning an album. That will happen in a while,” he ends.
