Trouble for Shah Rukh’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, should film be released in Pakistan?

Trouble for Shah Rukh’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, should film be released in Pakistan?

There is talk in the Indian film industry that the highly anticipated Shah Rukh Khan headlined film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi might not be shown in neighbouring country Pakistan.

“After the horrendous terrorist attacks in Mumbai, the public is angry and many are laying the blame on Pakistan. If Adi (director Aditya Chopra) decides to show the film in Pakistan, only two weeks after the killings, then the people in India might take offence. This in effect could cause the film to bomb at the Indian Box Office. People might not go to see it because of the very fact that it is being shown in Pakistan,” said a source from the industry.

There are already rumours that Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini, which releases later in December, will not be shown in Pakistan.

What are your thoughts on this… do you think Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi should be shown in cinemas in Pakistan… do you feel that Indian cinemagoers might refrain from going out to the their local cinemas to watch this film if it was being shown in Pakistan… or how about suspending the film’s release… is it right to release such a big film with 2 weeks of the attacks… will the public be in the right sense of mind to be entertained… should the film’s release be delayed until the New Year… whatever your thoughts we would love to read them… please use the comments section below to send them to us.

  5. I find it so fool when people do mix the Goverment with some bunch of fools and idiots, the terorrists who did the attacks, might be from Pakistan, but it doesn’t mean that to blame Pakistan it self, coz Pakistan it self faces a lots of terrorism problems, why would they ever support this kind of things?………..

  7. How silly can you be? Actually Pakistani’s should be taking offense at being blamed for everything all the time and decide to boycott Indian films..not the other way round. HOW IS IT THE ENTIRE OF PAKISTAN’S FAULT FOR SOMETHING THAT IS A MENACE ALL OVER THE WORLD? Isn’t the Indian Govt and Intelligence service to be blamed for not protecting their country and not servicing it adequately…they were so completely inept that they didnot act on tips received as far back as Jan? and were rendered so helpless for 3 whole days just by a handful of 10-12 men?? .. who look ethinically of Indian or South Indian origin? n how could 10-12 men come equiped with weapons all the way from Karachi in small open rafts? How many days would that have taken? What would they have done for drinking water …drank the ocean …would they not have dehydrated?…etc…
Now all this does not mean that what happened was not a travesty .its horrible! ..but gimme me a break quit blaming Pakistan…and look inward too…

  15. What pakistan could get out of mumbai Attacks??? Paksis didn’t do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it wouldn’t bring them any dollar from usa to “eradicate ” terrorism, it wouldn’t give any political gain, it wouldn’t give any respect to pakistan in whole wide world. Then Why Why would they bother to attack mumbai?
The only people who seems to get benefit out of it are BJP ( elections are closed and making Sonia incompetent is an agenda) or shiv sena who want to divert attention from Assam killings to Pakistan.

  17. First of all Pakistan is not invloved in the attacks………Indian need to find someone else to blame…Secondly entertainment and politics should not be mixed……So the film should be released if not t will be their loss

  19. Hi everyone

I think this is very silly. The mumbai attacks hasnt got any thing to do with pakistani’s. There are a lot of indian muslims in India. If something happens the indians blame pakistani’s. I am australian born muslim. Even if they dont show it, pirated copies some how always reach there. I know because my husband is pakistani and his family is there.

  29. Hey Guys, the film will get released on 19th Dec one week later from its official release date according to http://www.dhacinema.com.

GHAJINI & CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA rights to Pakistan are acquired by Independent Films of JANG GROUP of Companies. Both films are expected to release simultaneously on their International release dates 25th December 2008 and 16th January 2009 respectively.

They can’t stop the movies because they earn a lot by releasing their movies in Pakistani Theatres.

  31. GOOD! I say do not release any movie in Pakistan for the time being. How are the victims families going to feel at this point when the Govt on that side of the border is acting nuts and we are busy entertaining their people?

I find it amusing that people still find reasons to defend such horrendous acts by saying India is blaming Pakistan for no reason at all. Who is saying that the common people of Pakistan are behind these attacks? It is the terrorist groups and ISI. and FYI, it is not just India but now the entire world which is pointing fingers at them.

To the genius here who said- “Isn’t the Indian Govt and Intelligence service to be blamed for not protecting their country and not servicing it adequately…they were so completely inept that they didnot act on tips received as far back as Jan? ”

Have u at all been watching TV? Where have the people not blamed the Govt and the intelligence services for the huge blunders that hv cost hundreds their lives?Heck, for the first time even the Govt agrees that they goofed up BIG TIME!

But does that permit ANY effin moron to just come and bomb our country? NO! YES, our politicians and so called leaders are completely useless and hv mustard size brains and are inept idiots. But this under no circumstances means that the people who attacked our country are free to do so.

I also fail to understand why USA is responsible for these attacks! Wernt Americans killed in these attacks? Ironically no Pakistani died.
For a country thats hardly willing to cooperate with us, let them get tortured by their horrible Pakistani artists and movies.

  33. Heloo People grow up pls..stop the fight at least now..look around you and use your brain..why is pakistan being blamed for the attacks? the Marriott hotel was bomed recently? did pakistan blame india? No..pakistan would not do such a thing..THINK LOGICALLY..pakistan and india’s relation were getting strong..for the first time in history..we started to live in peace and harmony and actually accepted each other..but some people dont want that to happend ..dont you guys watch tv.or read or watch even movies..DAVE is a good hindi movie to watch….its all political my freinds..Ordinary citizens of either country does not want war..we want to live in peace..why would we want war? it will effect us the most..we would have to pay the price..IT IS ALLL POLITICAL my freinds…we do not know who did the attacks..but jus becauz media is blaming pakistan..dont jus go with wut media says..it could be a govt agency behind it to win votes..or it could be any other power in the world that jus does not want Peace between us…and if you want to folow wut the media is telling you then pls care to watch this video too..we just dont know wut to belive..but ill tell you ..i live in a north america…most of my freinds are hindus and sikhs..and here there is so much love and harmony between all of us..we never judge each other by the background, religion or faith…infact we consider eachother from the same origin..because we are A LIKE….the language, color, race, lifestyle, the faith, etc. guys EVERTYTING is pretty much the same…why cant the same people live the same way in jus india and pak? pls care to watch this video..but people pls stop the Haterate..http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=37253149234&h=2EBsm
