Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd.’s Forthcoming flick, ‘Maharathi’ will be ready to serve you by next month. Directed by Shivam Nair, the film is produced by Dhillin Mehta. Starring Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Boman Irani, Neha Dhupia and Tara Sharma in the pivotal roles, the flick is based on the Gujrati drama titled ‘Maharathi’.
Storyline:
Subhash (Paresh Rawal) is an actor who has spent 10 years unsuccessfully trying to get the acting roles in the movies. He makes ends meet by his uncanny ability to think on his feet committing small time cons on unsuspecting victims. One night he puts his life on stake while saving one man’s life. He accompanies the injured man to his home. Subhash is utterly captivated that after saving Mr. Adenwalla (Naseeruddin Shah), he would get a generous tip. Mr. Adenwalla gives him a job of his driver. The better half of Adenwalla (Neha Dhupia) does not like Subhash as she thinks that he takes advantage of his hubby.
Subhash discovers his wife’s evil practices and on the other hand, Adenwalla decides to take revenge from his money hungry wife. He puts his wife in a catch 22 situation by throwing down a challenge. Subhash thinks that this is the right time to get rid of his middle class status and poverty so he collaborates with Mallika to acquire the money and property. Working hand in glove, they get a caretaker (Tara Sharma) with the help of their family lawyer (Boman Irani) to be a witness to an ailing Mr. Adenwalla’s presence in the house which they concoct their plans. Follows next are the thrilling situations in their plans. Things get worst for them when ACP Gokhale (Om Puri) and inspector Borkar (Vivek Shauq) enter into the scene.
It would be interesting to watch that how the scheming Subhash gets trapped in his own lies and how brilliantly he finds the ways to save himself.
