Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has been presented the “Uttam Bajykar Jiyalal Vasant Award” for her contribution to the field of music.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh presented the trophy to the melody queen at a function here last evening in the presence of artistes like actor Rekha and tabla maestro Zakir Hussain.

The award, which is in its seventh year, has been instituted by singer Suresh Wadkar and his family.
