UK Box Office: Dostana smashes to number 6 in chart
Top Bollywood comedy flick Dostana has smashed its way into the UK Box Office, thrashing many Hollywood biggies on its way.
Entering the charts at number 6, this Abhishek Bachchan headlined film collected £341,665 during its opening weekend. Showing on 43 screens, it’s per screen average was second only to record-breaking smash Quantum Of Solace; £7,946 compared to £9,407 for the James Bond film.
The movie, from acclaimed for-NRI filmmaker Karan Johar, released in a week which saw a further 7 new entries. Dostana was surpassed only by Max Payne and Zack And Miri Make A Porno.
Golmaal Returns fell 13 places, from 14 to 27, while Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi struggled to number 47.
