Rab Ne music will become better with time, composers defend lacklustre soundtrack
The music of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has been panned by critics all over the world, but this hasn’t stopped the men behind the lacklustre soundtrack to praise it even more.
Musician duo Salim and Suleiman have gone on record to state the complete opposite, saying, “The reactions are very good and people have loved the Shah Rukh Khan promo, it’s really different from what we’ve done before.”
When asked about the unimpressive Dance Pe Chance track, Suleiman defended it, saying, “It’s a situational song and as the release date will come closer, I’m sure people will take to the number in a big way. The important thing is that we are both happy and satisfied with the end product.”
And the big point, why only a small number of songs? Suleiman laughs, “That was because it required only four songs. We’ve stayed true to the film. And this is something we’ve always done; we never try to push a number when it’s not needed in the script.”
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi soundtrack has not a single song sung by Shah Rukh Khan favourites Udit Narayan and Abhijeet. Why was that? “You’ll have to see the film,” he responds.
So there you have it… Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi music will be appreciated more as time goes by… just like the music of A R Rahman is… do you agree with that… do you believe that this music will become much better in the long run and not go stale… or do you think the music directors are just trying to come up with excuses after producing a ‘rubbish’ product… whatever your thoughts we would love to read them… please use the comments section below to send them to us.

its the best music.
If the music has negative feedback it is only due to all the uneducated music critics out there (like the ones that belong to this website) who think that music like Karzzzz (bollywoodhungama.com gave it 5/5 and Golmaal Returns is great but in soul wise they’re not.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has three excellent tracks and two tracks which will make the final product look great. Dance Pe Chance has nice Punjabi part sung Janjua.
Yes what is the excuse to selling to the public a soundtrack with 4 songs ?
They expect us to purchase the album ? Shreya Ghosal is wasted in the short number. And this being a big production and directorial venture of Aditya Chopra after several years one would expect a soundtrack comparable to the memorable DDLJ, Mohabbatein , DTPG and Veer Zaara.
Why didn’t they use Lataji in the duet with Roop Kumar Rathod the way they did with Tere Liye and with Sonu in Do Pal for Veer Zaara. Lataji has sung memorable duets in DDLJ – Tujhe Dekha To , Humko Humise Churalo in Mohabbatein and in Veer Zaara to name a few and they remain popular even now – so what happened to Udit Narayan ?
No matter what the music directors say I feel that the soundtrack has one saving catchy tune Haule Haule. I have been playing it over and over again.
It is not a memorable soundtrack. It will just come and go and forgotten.
Hope the movie turns out a hit for Yashraj Films. Most of their films have flopped in 2008. Like Chak De perhaps SRK can save them with RNBJ.
the music of rab ne bana di jodi is quite different from the earlier movies of yash raj films . the song haule haule is good the rest are average tracks . lets see how the movie turns out .
dnt wory ppl dis album will get atleast 1 award as it is shahrukh khanz album… probly worst soundtrack of da year award……
Album sucks big time. Haul haule is the only saving grace. Udit is missing from album. The title track should had been sung by Udit and Lata. That would had changed the song from boring to beautiful.
Worst soundtracks..totally crap…only one song haule haule is gud…dnt say anything abt karzzzz music..da music of karzzzz ws no. 1 on world charts…
I m totally confuse y aditya chopra signed B grade music directors lyk salim sulemaan for music direction of his film…
