Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Vinay Pathak, Kajol, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta and Priyanka Chopra.
Music: Salim-Sulaiman
Yash Raj Films’ Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ has been creating waves since the outset. The music of the album has just hit the music stands. Directed by Aditya Chopra, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Vinay Pathak, Kajol, Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta and Priyanka Chopra. Salim-Sulaiman is the dup who has composed the tunes. The lyrics are penned by Jaideep Sahini.
1): Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai (Roop Kumar Rathod)
The first to come on the play list is ‘Tujh Mein’ sung by Roopkumar Rathod who sings it with conviction. The fusion of daphli, dholak and guitar attracts the ears. The lyrics hold vales and so is the composition.
Rating: 7/10
2): Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai (Shreya Ghoshal)
Shreya pockets the second version to croon. She does full justice to the singing. The serious mood beguiles the souls. Yes, go for it.
Rating: 7/10
3): Haule Haule (Sukhwinder Singh)
Sukhwinder Singh comes behind the mike to warble this solo. He loots the hearts with his fabulous singing. The arrangement of harmonium is a treat to listen to. The lyrics are fantastic. The music gels well with the flow of the song.
Rating: 8/10
4): Dance Pe Chance (Sunidhi Chauhan and Lab Janjua)
With Hinglish lyrics, the song emerges with Sunidhi and Lab to go with! Both render beautifully but the song is letdown by the poorly written lyrics and arranged music.
Rating: 3/10
5): Phir Milenge (Sonu Nigam)
The last song of the album is ‘Phir Milenge’ that is laced with the popular Hindi film titles. While you stay with the track, you start thinking that you have heard this ilk of song many a times earlier. Wonder, why did the musicians’ duo plan to do this as there is no spark at all in the song. Neither lyrics wise nor music wise…! Skip it.
Rating: 1/10
Conclusion:
On the whole, Rab Ne Bana De Jodi is spongy provided that you erase last two songs from the play list.
Overall Rating: 6.5/10
