Cast: Dharmendra, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Rimi Sen, Zakir Hussain, Vinay Pathak, Daya Shetty, Ashwini Kalsekar
Director: Sriram Raghavan
Producer: Jhamu Sugandh
Music Director: Vishal-Shekhar
Remember ‘Ek Haseena Thi’, yes..the Sriram Raghavan directed flick that showed power packed performances from Saif Ali Khan and Urmila. Now, Adlabs has announced that it will be producing and distributing Sriram Raghavan’s latest film JOHNNY GADDAAR.
The film is a suspense thriller from the same technical team that was part of EK HASEENA THI. The story of the film has been adopted from various pieces of work such as FARGO, PULP FICTION and LOCK STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS.
The cast of the film includes Dharmendra, who is making a comeback after a long gap. The movie is also the launch pad of Neil Nitin Mukesh, who previously worked as an assistant director with Yash Raj for four years and has an impeccable film lineage as the son of Nitin Mukesh and grandson of singer Mukesh. Also, Rimi Sen, Zakir Hussain, Vinay Pathak, Daya Shetty and Ashwini Kalsekar play important characters in the thriller. The music has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar.
The movie basically revolves around a gang of five men, Dharmendra playing the eldest and Neil playing the youngest. They face a bright prospect of making a fortune through what seems to be a simple exchange of contraband for money on a train. The story takes a somersault when one of the gang members gets killed before he can make the exchange and the money he was holding, disappears.

hats off to james headly chase, the worst thing with bollywood is that we cant even copy brilliantly, but raghvan has done a great job, there are few writers who can narrate novel based story very well, vishal bhardwaj is one of them, n now shriram raghwan is new on the list.at least there is some reality in these characters, which you can never find in yash raj or dharma productions.
neil is new but he carried himself very well, vinay pathak n zakir are outstanding, they hav got the best chemistry on screen,a must watch for all GOOD MOVIE lovers.enjoy.
great job. you will stick with your seat at the end of scene. perfect thriller and suspense movie. must watch. full “Paisa Vasool”.

Definitely one of the best in a long time…at least for the suspense and thriller elements…eventhough copied. But, I just can’t buy the absence of police and investigation/interrogation of people linked to the victims, etc. inspite of so many people getting killed. Just too hard to buy that missing piece that seems to be so conveniently brushed under the carpet by the director. But, definitely a watchable movie by all means, after all the crap that’s coming out of bollywood over the years.
Another Good Movie From The Maker Of Ek Haseena Thi . Yes there is a missing piece in the movie and this will be the only one huge defect in this movie. The missing piece is of course the absence of police and investigation/interrogation of people linked to the victims,
After all it is a good movie. Worth to watch it.
