UTV Motion Pictures (Ronnie Srewvala) comes up with its new project, ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (OLLO)’. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the film stars Abhay Deol, Paresh Rawal and Neetu Chandra in the lead roles. Dibarkar had earlier directed ‘Khosla KA Ghosla’ for UTV. The music of the film has now hit the stands and T-Series is the label behind this release.
1): Oye Lucky (Mika and Amitosh Nagpal)
A hardcore Punjabi number, ‘Oye Lucky’, which is the title track also, opens the album. Sung by Mika and Amitosh Nagpal, the song features their full of energy rendition to entice with. The number has rustic feel that you like to be with. Written by Dibarak Banerjee, Manu Rishi and Kanu Behl, the song is racy and can be played in marriage ceremonies. The composition is superb and lively.
Rating: 8/10
2): Oye Lucky (Mika and Amitosh Nagpal) – Remix Version
The remix version is boisterous as well and remixed by DJ a Myth. Wonderful track to listen to.
Rating: 8/10
3): Jugni (Des Raj Lachkani)
Laced with Punjabi flavour, ‘Jugni’ is a Punjabi song too and carries Des Raj Lachkani to render it. Superbly, Des sings it. Rishi and Kanu Behl write the lyrics, which are great and compliment the composition brilliantly.
Rating: 7.5/10
4): Jugni (Des Raj Lachkani) – Remix Version
The remix has potential to live up to your expectations like the original. DJ A Myth attracts you with the remix arrangement.
Rating: 7/10
5): Tu Raja Ki Raj Dulari (Rajbir and Mahaveer Chopra)
Sung averagely by Rajbir and Maheveer Chopra, the song has desert folk flavor. Mange Ram dashes off mundane lyrics. Sneha composes just okay tunes.
Rating: 2.5/10
6): Superchor (Dilbahar and Akshay Verma)
Another hardcore number awaits you next on the soundtrack. ‘Superchor’ is sung by Dilbahar and Akshay Verma who do not raise your spirits. Poorly scribbled down by Dibakar Banerjee and Amitosh Nagpal, the track is laced with just about okay composition by Sneha. Skip it.
Rating: 2/10
7): Hooriyaan (Birijesh Shadilya and Himani Kapoor)
The celebration number winds up the album with Birjesh and Himani behind the mike. They sing it luminously but are letdown by the lyricist Dibakar Banerjee and Amitosh Nagpal. The musical score is average.
Rating: 4.5/10
Conclusion:
The soundtrack of Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! is rated as average since it is laced with mundane and good songs together on one platform.
Overall Rating: 4.5/10
