Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Eklavya will be hitting the theatres on February 15th. But the Chopra’s ambitious film will have a more ambitious premiere release at the Imax Adlabs in Mumbai with a complete recreation of the state of Rajasthan for the grand release of the film at the theatre.
Imax Adlabs will be seen draped in 6500 meters of red cloth with a huge symbol of the sun. The dome area of the theatre will be made to look like a Rajasthani fort. There will be pillars, tombs, camels and elephants at the entrance. Vidhu Vinod Chopra has also got permission from the animal welfare Board of India for the use of animals at the premiere. Art director Nitin Desai has been given the challenge of taking the audiences straight into the heart of Eklavya’s royal Rajasthan.
There were invitations from US and UK theatres for the screening of Eklavya, though Mumbai was selected to be the desired venue for the grand release as the film relates with the Indians to the core.
