There has been a lot said and done regarding Aishwarya Rai’s impending marriage with beau Abhishek Bachchan. But the new case takes the cake as it not only makes a hit at the celeb couple’s marriage but also at the superstitious rituals of the Bachchan clan. A PIL (Public Interest Litigation) has been filed against Ash for allegedly marrying trees for warding off troubles before marriage.
A lawyer from Patna filed the PIL against her for spreading superstition and that it would mislead the common people. Ash allegedly married a peepal tree at Benaras, a banana tree at a Bangalore temple, and deity’s idol in Ayodhya. She is supposed to be a Manglik, which is considered inauspicious for her marriage.
The case has been filed for the violation of Article 17 of the Indian constitution which prohibits untouchability and that her actions will promote untouchability and superstition among the common people. The lawyer, also a social activist asked for a public apology from the Bachchans for their actions which may promote social evil like untouchability in the nation.
