Amitabh Bachchan to work with Ram Gopal Verma once more
Amitabh Bachchan has confirmed that he will once more work with director Ram Gopal Verma.
Says Bachchan, “I’m not authorised to speak about it. All I can say for the moment is that Ramu has always challenged me with interesting and novel ideas. The next one is no different. I enjoy working with him and enjoy the sensibilities he provokes in his artistes.”
When Bachchan is reminded about major flops in the past with Ram Gopal Verma, he defends, “I’m not ashamed of any work I have done. I put in equal effort in Aag and Sarkar. Success and failure are transitory. Ramu had the guts to do an Aag, and the guts to admit its failure and the mistakes he made in choosing me to do the role. He was generous too in crediting me with the fact that I trusted him despite reservations. These are true qualities of a creative mind and a mind that will swiftly correct itself. Ramu proved himself again in his very next, Phoonk. In life, it is better to have loved and lost than not loved at all! I hope we can produce something meaningful. It isn’t Sarkar 3. I don’t know if that’s happening.”
“Beyond that, I don’t want to reveal my plans now.”
