The much awaited release of the next from Madhur Bhandarkar is already creating a lot of buzz in the media even before its release. The film-maker’s next release ‘Traffic Signal’ is being anxiously awaited by both the insiders and outsiders of the industry. And the film-maker has dark comedy in offering this time around.
The soon-to-be-released film from Madhur Bhandarkar is based on the lives of the hundreds of poor people who live near the traffic signals and has some power-packed performances from Konkona Sen, Sudhir Mishra and Kunal Khemu.
The genre to be served by Madhur Bhandarkar is a dark comedy, unlike his previous films. Says Madhur, “60%-70% of the film has humour to it. Also, there is no story in the film. It is in fact about these 60 characters who have their world cantered on the traffic signal. Everyone has their own life and how each of them makes it happen on the road is what ‘Traffic Signal’ is all about. What you would see is an element of beggar mafia and how people from the grassroots level to the top are involved. ”
