As host on ‘Big Brother’s’ desi counterpart ‘Bigg Boss’, Arshad Warsi had planned to go to London and connect with Shilpa Shetty. The plan’s on hold for now.
“I was supposed to go there with a message for Shilpa and her audience. But then I was told I could not talk about anything controversial, including the racial row! How could I represent my country in front of millions and not make a mention of the issues that are bothering everyone? I’d have looked like a fool. If I’ve to just say hello to Shilpa I’ll say it from home. Why go all the way to London?” reasons Arshad wisely.
He leaves for London anyway at the end of the month. “To shoot for Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘Goal’. We complete the film in three months. I’m already missing home.”
When he returns Arshad has another dilemma drawing his attention.
“I have to shoot for two films simultaneously. I’ve never done that before. It’s scary to keep visiting two different characters on two different sets and crew at the same time. However the two films, Ajay Devgan’s ‘Sunday’ (directed by Rohit Shetty) and Anil Kapoor’s ‘Shortcut’, were too tempting to let go. So I’ve broken the rule, just this once.”
Incidentally Lara Dutta has opted out of ‘Shortcut’. The buzz is that she didn’t want to be featured in a film with Arshad.
Arshad shrugs, “It couldn’t have had anything to do with me because I don’t have a heroine opposite me. Lara was to be cast opposite Akshaye Khanna. So if it’s anyone’s loss, it’s his.”
