Veteran actor Anil Kapoor has finally decided that enough is enough and will now go to the bank and take out his hard-earned cash so that his petite daughter Sonam Kapoor can show just how good she is… in front of the camera.
Apparently, Papa Kapoor has a hot project in mind and it is roughly based on the hit novel Emma, written by British author Jane Austen. No director has yet been found and no actors have been casted. All that is finalized is that Papa will pump the money while daughter will act.
Says a source, “When Sonam made her acting debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya, Anil Kapoor was often asked why he did not launch her instead. But he wanted her to learn things on her own. Earlier, when she assisted Bhansali during the making of the Amitabh-Rani starrer Black, it was her way of knowing the hows and whys of B-Town. She wanted to be familiar with the behind-the- camera scenario too. After Saawariya, Sonam did not indulge in a movie-signing spree. She was in no hurry and only wanted to essay characters that suited her and excited her.”
Now what is Emma, we hear you ask… well it is an English novel, published way back in 1815, and is about the perils of misconstrued romance. The main character, Emma Woodhouse, is beautiful, intellectual, and slightly spoiled. Having lost her mother at a young age, Emma is mature for her age and takes over the running of the home. Vowing that she will never marry, she delights in making matches for others. She is unable to fall in love, until she realises that she has been in love with George Knightley, her biggest critic and also her close friend.

I have a lot of faith on Sonam Kapoor and I’m confident about her look and talent!
