Comedies are everywhere on Bollywood scene over the last few years. This formulaic masala to get success has become every filmmaker’s cup of tea now. But it’s not all to grab success at this front because many try but a few succeed. Pure comedies entice you when the subject is rich, dialogues are powerful, performances are strong and the actors are dexterous to deliver the acts aptly on screen. ‘Dil Kabaddi’ too vows to attract the viewers with strong theme, power packed performances by the skilled actors and creatively written the dialogues. But to judge this claim, you will have to wait for the release. The film features the brilliant star cast from Irrfan Khan to Soha Ali Khan to Rahul Bose to Konkona Sen Sharma.
Storyline:
The movie is set in contemporary Mumbai. This outing pours light on the evolving equations amongst the urban couples and then paints the metamorphosis among the relationships with a touch of comedy.
‘Dil Kabaddi’ follows the lives of two modern day married couples – Samit (Irrfan Khan) and Mita (Soha Ali Khan); Rishi (Rahul Bose) and Simi (Konkona Sen Sharma). They are caught in boredom, loss of love and temptation from tip to toe.
The reels unzip with Samit and Mita who announce their separation. Then what follows is the moral disorder and emotional crises of these couples over the next year and a half. Friends quarrel, separate, take lovers and then settle.
Seemingly, a wonderful dramatic venture…so hope the film will entice the viewers once it is out in theaters.
