Bollywood is making a name for itself in the international media with every big hit creating waves in the overseas market. After mega successes of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Don, Dhoom 2 abroad, Mani Ratnam’s latest offering Guru has also received incredible reception and hailed by the American fans of Bollywood at the Times Square in New York.
The premiere of Guru held on Friday in the city of New York, the American media nad fans welcomed and were mesmerised by the force of Bollywood and the new blood of talent and class knocking at their hearts. The street surrounding the Times Square was flooded with screaming fans who wanted the glimpse of most celebrated couple of Bollywood, Ash and Abhishek.
Guru was screened at the AMC Empire 25 Theatre on West 42nd street where it received a warm welcome. It was an unusual sight as Bollywood films are not accustomed to such a huge response at the premiere gala itself. Surely! Indian cinema is creating a space of its own in the global market.
