Sunil Shetty’s production abode Popcorn Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd. comes up with the latest offering, ‘EMI’ starring Sanjay Dutt, Ashish Choudhary, Arjun Rampal, Neha Oberoi, Urmila Mantondkar and Manoj Joshi in the pivotal roles. A presentation of Balaji Telefilms, ‘EMI’ has been well in talks since the outset. E.M.I. or Easy Monthly Installments is a bittersweet satire that pours light on the modern day India in a mirthfully subjective way. Chrantan Bhatt has been roped in to compose the music whereas he works with the six different lyricists to score the compositions for this film album, which has been released by T-Series. What this soundtrack has to offer to its listeners…lets check it out..!

1): Chori Chori Dekhe Mujhko (Sunidhi Chauhan and Suzan)

The beginning starts with an item number, ‘Chori Chori’ that offers you to enjoy with some Turkish beats since the song has a bit touch of Turkish music. The number generates a sensual mood, which you like to stay with. Sung superbly by the item songs master Sunidhi Chauhan, the vocals in the background by Suzan attracts the ears in full. Shakeel Azmi scribbles down the lyrics, which aptly fit on the song’s ambiance. Chirantan Bhatt hits your heart with the electrifying composition. The visuals feature the sex goddess Malaika Arora, who shakes the legs perfectly on the tunes. Arjun Rampal too appears on the song with her. Overall, it’s a catchy number to hear.

Rating: 7.5/10

2): Chori Chori Dekhe Mujhko (Sunidhi Chauhan and Suzan) – Remix Version

The remix version, though well composed, but does not send chill through the bodies like the original.

Rating: 5/10

3): Ankhon Hi Ankhon Mein (Mohit Chauhan)

Like to listen a love song…? Okay, the album has it for you. ‘Ankhon Hi Ankhon Mein’ is dolled up by Mohin Chauhan with conviction. Sarim Momin pens beautiful lyrics, which are complimented brilliantly by the musician Chirantan Bhatt.

Rating: 7/10

4): EMI (Sanjay Dutt, Suzan, Earl and Mahalaxmi Iyer)

The fun track follows next to beguile your spirits. The title song, ‘EMI’ brings Sanjay Dutt to render the lines in his baritone voice. Keeping the fun element of the song in mind, Sanju Baba delivers the words in a classy witty style. Suzan, Earl and Mahalaxmi Iyer appear as a good support to him behind the mike. Shabbir Ahmad and Hamza Faruqui dash off the lyrics, which have fun quotient in abundance. On the music side, yes, it spins magic as well. The visuals of the song, starring Sanjay Dutt and others, are enticing as well.

Rating: 7.5/10

5): EMI (Sanjay Dutt, Suzan, Eral and Mahalaxmi Iyer) – Remix Version

The remix version provides you with the same pleasures you got in the original.

Rating: 7.5/10

6): Aaja Meri Jane Ja (Shaan, Suzan and Rishi)

A peppy number, ‘Aaja Meri Jane Ja’ comes your way now having the versatile Shaan to croon the song. Shaan sings with oomph and makes it an utter dance number. Suzan and Rishi team up to deliver the back-up vocals. Hamza Faruqui do not impress with the lyrics, which look mundane. The music front seems average also. In entirety, lyrics and the music destroy the worth of this track, which is well sung by the vocalists.

Rating: 3/10

7): Roshan Har Dil (Paarthiv)

You are offered a romantic number, ‘Roshan Har Dil’ to hear. Sung dexterously by Paarthiv, the song glides easily on ears. The lyrics and music both register impacts on you. Go for it, if you are the fans of love songs.

Rating: 7/10

8): Vote for Sattar Bhai (Ninaad Kaamat)

Ninaad Kaamat fetches the concluding song of the album. Rendered brilliantly by Kaamat, the number has underground feel attached to it. The mimicry of Mithun Chakravorty, Shatrughan Sinha, Shakti Kapoor and Rajkumar appeal the most. It’s a wonderful song in all respects. Give it repeated hearings.

Rating: 7.5/10

Conclusion:

‘EMI’ manages the momentum well throughout the soundtrack except one or two songs, which ruin the pleasures a bit. Although a well-composed album, nonetheless it does not see a good sale at the music stands.

Overall RS Rating: 7/10
