This week’s box office collections seems to have been coasted along by three films. Priyadarshan’s Bhagam Bhag, Dhoom 2 and Vivah continue to do steady business all over. On one hand, these films are churning out good collections, Kaabul Express is doing decent business in the multiplexes and has fallen flat at the small screens. The big flop is in the form of Ravi Chopra’s Baabul which has failed to succeed at the box office.
The top 5 films at the box office for the week are:
• Bhagam Bhag: Priyadarshan’s dark comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Paresh Rawal and Lara Dutta is doing good business in its fourth week. In three weeks, it has managed to earn Rs. 1,76,515 crores avg/print. The film is above average in the northern region.
• Dhoom 2: Another Yash Raj Film doing exceeding business in its eight week. Hrithik’s magic continues to pull the audiences towards the theatre as the film earned Rs. 1,06, 618 crores avg/print this week. The film is the blockbuster hit from the last year.
• Kaabul Express: Yash Raj Film’s next release has n’t hit the bull’s eyes as was expected . The documentary turned into a film by Kabir Khan is doing well only at the multiplexes as has been rated average and most sctions. The film earned Rs. 83,821 crore avg/print this week.
• Vivah: Sooraj Barjataya’s jackpot this year earned Rajshri Films, its much-needed hit in the form of the superhit Vivah. The film has been decalred as blcokbuster in the state of Bihar. The film earned Rs. 57,973 crores this week. The film is in its 10th week.
Baabul: The Ravi Chopra filmed proved to be the weakest presentation of the B.R.Films banner. The film starring big names failed at the box office and earned Rs. 41,643 crores avg/print this week. It is in its 6th week of release.
