Anil Kapoor signs up Sanjay Dutt for comedy flick

Anil Kapoor is taking movie production seriously even after the dismal flop last year of Gandhi My Father.

The veteran actor has now decided to make comedy flicks because of the success rate and has roped in another veteran, Sanjay Dutt for the lead. Not only that but the man behind Singh Is Kinng, Anees Bazmee will direct the flick. A source in the industry says, “Last year, Anil Kapoor made the critically acclaimed My Father Gandhi and now wants to make comedy flicks. He is currently completing Neeraj Vora’s ShortKut for his banner.”

The source further adds, “Last week, after paying Anees a big sum, the producer and director travelled to Bangkok to lock in a hero for their film. They met up with Sanjay Dutt, shooting for Blue (in Phuket) and narrated him the script for the same. Dutt was excited and has signed on. For how much, isn’t clear as yet. Anil’s untitled production, a three-hero project, now features Dutt, Anil and Akshaye Khanna.”

Anees Bazmee confirms the latest development. “It is true that I have signed Anil’s next but I am currently working on Sanjay Kapoor’s next after which I will put my whole time and effort on Anil’s project. It is a three hero project starring Anil, Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna. I am not going to talk about the money involved.”
